The Jason C Format

THIS WILL BE THE FORMAT FOR THE DRUNKEN BEAR 10K
Aka “THE JASON C FORMAT”

Session 1: Prelim Qualifier
There will be 8 groups (A through H) of how many ever teams; each group will have a section of tables to play on. Then each group plays a full double elimination tournament. The two finalists in each group advance to the 32 team Finals Tournament(16 teams). After all games are played the score sheet from each group will be turned in.

Session 2: Survivor Qualifier and Top Seeding for Finals Tournament

Survivor Qualifier: Each team that did not place 1st or 2nd in their group of the prelim qualifier (all but 16 teams) are randomly entered into a double elimination tournament. The top 16 teams are seeded and advance to the Finals Tournament. They will be 17-32 seeds in the Finals Tournament.
Seeding Tournament: The top 16 from the prelims will be randomly placed into a double elimination tournament to determine seeds for the Finals Tournament. All Prelim champions will play a 2nd place prelim team first round (Example: Group A 1st place plays Group H 2nd place, ect). Finishes in this tournament will be the 1-16 seeds in the 32 team Finals Tournament. Tie breakers going to who lost to the better team.
Example: My team got knocked out at the 5-6th place position. So did another team. Whichever of the two teams lost to the higher placing team, gets the higher seed.

Session 3: Finals Tournaments (32 teams)

There will be two 16-team brackets based on seeds 1-32 from Session 2. Each tournament will be double elimination. In each bracket will be as if it was a 32 team tournament top half and bottom half. Winners of each tournament advance to finals game. Losers are awarded what place they took.
